Normally we here at BtT do not endorse specific products or sites and we certainly would never push anything we do not agree with or use ourselves. That said, if you have not checked out the newest version of the Disney Food Blog’s annual book, you are truly missing out.
Collectively we have been to Disney World hundreds if not thousands (maybe a stretch there) times, so we pride ourselves son knowing most of the tips and tricks to WDW touring. The trick with food at most Disney parks is that it changes so rapidly that the steak you ate last year may well be gone and been replaced with nothing or something made of quinoa. You never know…
The fun trick with the Disney Food Blog book is that it is updated annually to reflect the changes made to the parks. Since it is a digital copy (though you can of course buy a physical copy if you want to keep them), it means you can just replace your out dated model with the latest and greatest and keep it on your phone or mobile device for when you hit the parks. Digital copies make great reference for when you get to the place you wanted to eat at and find the dish you were after is sold out or it is just TOO BUSY for you to wait. Open up the e-book and hunt for you book marked page to find alternatives quickly and easily.
The team over at DFB are very knowledgeable and unapologetically honest about what they like and don’t like (and why). AJ and company break down the meals, sides, drinks, etc. and really give you a feel for what is on offer at each location. The accompany website also showcases and last minute changes to the menus as well as providing not only fun and informative “What to eat where” videos but also some general touring insight and details not just around food.
The book provides menus, details about the food, hints at chefs to look out for… even what alcoholic beverages to try out and where the better pours/bartenders can be found. Do not be fooled by the price (current 2018 version sits at about $19.99 USD), this is a thick book (600 full colour pages) filled to the brim with tips, tricks, hacks, food challenges and menus.
If you are looking to use the Disney Dining Plan, this book is an absolute must as it breaks down every item and makes notes of what level; of credit each item on each menus is worth. It also includes downloadable worksheets and multiple day itineraries to help you plan and track your trips
Every restaurant, bar, kiosk, lounge, festivals and event is represented here and include specific tips or “hacks” for locations as well. In addition there are smaller books broken down by each park if you are more interested in a specific location or food type.
