Our friends over a The Voidhave done it again. They have continuously shown they are not afraid to go after strong IP’s, with their amazing work on the Ghostbusters Dimension/VR work, but this time they are really pushing it with… Star Wars. Yes, really.
We are not ashamed to say that this IP holds a particularly fond place in our hearts so when we heard someone was doing a Star Wars VR experience, of course we were sceptical. Then we heard it was The Void(a company who joined Disney Acceleratorthis year) and almost immediately, we were relieved. If you have not had the joy of playing their Ghostbusters(and others) experience, you will know just how exciting this could be. We don’t have an opening date for this one, a Disney Parks Blog post stated “starting thus holiday season”, so we will have to wait and see. We do know that it will be installed into both of The new Void Experience Centers being built ford Downtown Disney in Anaheimas well as Disney Springsin Walt Disney World. This will help to make both parks the destination for serious fans, especially whenStar Wars: Secrets of the Empireexperience opens alongside Star Wars Land in both parks.

“There are two ways to look at a blank piece of paper. One way is to see it as the most frightening thing in the world because there is nothing on it, and you have to make the first mark. The other way is to see the blank sheet as the greatest opportunity in the world . . . you can let your imagination fly in any direction.” Marty Sklar Walt Disney Imagineer
