When you think of Theme Parks around the world, perhaps Turkey does not jump to the front of the pack initially. It seems overlooking Turkey would be a mistake as it is slated to host a huge theme park that is slated to open this year.
Vialandis scheduled to open its doors on April 23rd of this year and will include a decent opening lineup including Turkey’s first roller-coaster. With the work beginning back on November of 2012, workers have been running at full capacity to achieve the rather unbelievable open date. This turn around time would be virtually impossible in most countries so whether Vialand can actually be ready by its intended open date remains to be seen.
Istanbul residents will now get to have the excitement-filled Roller Coaster experience firsthand (achieve speeds of over 110km/sec.)in their own city. Vialand will feature main units such as:
Rapid Ride: a fast-water, family friendly rafting experience
Splash Coaster: a roller coaster combined with natural waterfalls
Family Coaster: a less intense coaster for anyone to enjoy
The guests of the Park may find themselves in King Kong Village where they can meet the legendary character, lively streets and squares where the old, mystical way of living in Istanbul is reflected and its different cuisine and culture is presented. The Fatih Dark Ride entertainment unit will allow guests to take a trip through the Ottoman Empire period and witness Fatih the Conqueror take over Istanbul.
With four different and distinct zones (Fun Zone, Shopping Zone, History Zone, Adventure Zone) each with its own theming, this joint venture of Via Group and Gursoy Group will bring Istanbul’s Eyup to the focus in the the park world and is their hope to being much more tourism both locally and internationally to Istanbul.
Attempting to put itself up with if not to excel over its Middle East predecessors, Vialandis definitely aiming high in 2013.
